Cards
sold via shops attract large mark-ups. When my cards
were carried by Myer stores in Australia up until
2004 they retailed for $4.95 each and some retail
shops charged even more.
Since
2001, my cards have sold in Australian gift and homeware
shops, bookstores, florists, nurseries, department
stores, university stores, newsagencies, milk bars
and speciality shops. In 2004 I stopped using a commercial
distributor and am now selling them wholesale.
By
selling my cards direct to you via the internet and
bypassing the distributor (and, if you're buying as
an individual, the retailer) I can now offer value
you would never normally find in quality cards.
I aim to create cards that are not run of the mill
production line pieces, lacking in individuality.
They were painted with great enjoyment to convey humour,
warmth and emotion. I have left them message free
as I don't think someone else's poem or potted wisdom
can mean a lot to the recipient. Your own words, however
modest, will (hopefully!) always mean more.
